Fine :)
Look forward to seeing that tattoo! And maybe you'll post the polished version before that? Would be nice to see.

Like the tulip!
And branch with the flowers - real nice! The bird - nice! The brown details on the bird - not so nice :) Could be reworked. About the composition - the bird is sitting quite close to the flowers in the back and then there's an empty space and then you have the flowers before him. Feels like he could have been sitting just a little bit forward and that would have made a difference. But all in all - very nice :)

Was asked to draw a sugar skull with a crown.............she didn't like it, says it needs "more going on"......:coffee:

View attachment 14807

Did you find out exactly what she meant by that? The drawing looks very good to me. Could it perhaps be that she's not used to looking to sketches and don't understand that the inside of the skull and the crown won't look as "pale" or "weak"" as they do now? Which I imagine they won't? What is your idea, what is it supposed to look like when tattooed? If you would show it to her for example colored, she might have got a different impression?

Agree with you on the brown detail, I used the pro markers but they bled into each other quite badly as this was done on tracing paper. My husband compared the birds shape to a poo? Definitely not my best work lol.

 ! But I don't agree it's not good, it's only the brown on the bird. I can understand it was the markers fault actually, it looks like it. And btw, the thickness of the lines is good I think.

Not your best work on any of the 2,nice ideas but not great on design.the wing on the bird look abit to square look mor like teeth than feathers, and flowers not a good design due to shading etc.im not trying to put you down etc just your art works been better.just my opinion so don't take it to heart

More going on!?! o_O That's all very good and all, but I was told by a tattoo artist once that the more you have 'going on' the worse it's going to look from a distance

It's a nice fish, nice move in it. It looks quite smudgy - due to pens? Or due to being a very small drawing? Looks very small to me :) For the scales I think it's would be good to draw lines before drawing the scales. Everything in an object usually are connected, therefor it's a good idea to "think 3D". Like for example the scales. It's like a very regular pattern on the fish. Draw that regular pattern with lines first, and then it will be easy to just fill in the scales. There's a video somewhere in a thread in the forum. The same goes for the dorsal fin. You have put in a place you find reasonable for it be placed in. But if you look closer it to much on the left. If you understand. If you were to draw a line where the middle between the eyes would be, and continued that line back to the caudal fin, you would get the line for where to place the dorsal fin. I'm not saying all this to nag! Your'e doing fine, I just want to encourage you to improve :)

There´s another way to go also, the traditional style of tattooing. It's not as "perfect" in its looks. More of charming imperfection if you know what I mean :) But imo it still is good to study what things actually look like. It's like cartoonists drawing all kinds of fantasy figures - they still have the right moves.

Keep it on Kirsty!

So, since I'm commenting a lot on others pics here on the forum and not really showing anything myself, I thought I'd show what I'm working on. It's a roooough sketch, I'm doing the same sketch over and over again just to figure out the composition, the goal is not to do my best sketching.

I was pretty satisfied with this one till I came to think of the abnormal size of the floating head compared to the octopus lol. The composition in this perhaps seems quite easy to figure out, but it's not. Just saying.

I probably will do something with all the black water. Like adding small air bubbles. Or glowing white dots that will look like stars in the sky. To get the feeling of water being also sky. I don't know yet.

The white "blob" under the octopus will be lots of bodies in the finished picture.

These pictures I'm working on are what I eventually will tattoo.

Good work Kyle! I especially like that fantasy figure head but they are all very good.

Inspired by my own tattoo; my mum asked me to draw something similar in memory of my nan. The 3 moons are symbolic of 3 women, grandmother, mother and daughter. my own design :)
That's really nice.would you go black an gery or colour if you were to tattoo it?

 My mum would offer half her body if she could! I'm not confident enough to tattoo anyone yet, but I'll definitely be keeping this aside for when I do :D

@DanniellaJ i like it :) 1 thing i would suggest looking at is moving the right hand rose inwards towards the peice and put it behind the womans neck... will bring the peice to a more vertical place as appose to spread across if that makes sense?

Hey @minno great suggestion! I will give that a bash. I wasn't too happy on the positioning of that rose either, but once I penned it that was it for the moment!

Thanks Malin, the thing he's grasping is meant to be a lantern, but i didn't plan ahead too well, space wise.

It felt clear to me it was a lantern actually. Or maybe one of those huge rings with giant keys a prison guard in the old days would have :)

That's also a challenge, finishing a picture where you didn't plan the position on the paper. I think it works well here. It makes the content in the picture coming closer to the beholder. Also as a tattoo it would work to finish it that way.

This is my a4 pencil drawing of my tattoo addictionView attachment 14847 He is the dream pusher, luring you and and tormenting your mind.
nice, i like the shading on the ring and hand holding the lantern, it gives an impression of light, would be nice to see that same light source reflecting on the face and clothes and casting the appropriate shadows.

I see all the thousand faults and don't know how to correct since I have no one to look at, but at the same time I'm having so much fun :)
My son is at a rock concert so I'm using Friday night for this. Nice :)

What are the faults? I find all the different contours interesting! What did you use? Looks like the hand moulding clay you can buy in packets! I can't think of the name :cautious: what is the next stage for this piece? I love the natural look of what you've done with this.

She's not bending the body enough, she looks stiff :/ And boring :/ :/ I want her to look exciting like the ladies you see in tattoos. Hm.

Yes it's probably the kind of clay you're thinking of! The same kids usually plays with. Perfect to work with!

I will do five different models like this in different positions and then use them as prototypes for to put drawings of the the tattoos I want to do on pigskin. Then I will make these in natural human size.

It's a punk rock (crust punk) concert, some local bands :) his mate is playing in one of them. He's not supposed to be allowed in since he's 17 (18 is the limit) but it seems to have worked :) (haven't heard anything at least)

Drawing and a glass of wine (or some more) is nice! :)

I see, you mean like pin up style tattoo ladies or tattooed women in magazines? They're throwing all sorts of shapes :cautious: I wouldn't call her boring; she's just white at the moment! I guess it's just like a drawing; the outline doesn't look like much, then you start to add darker lines, then colours and suddenly it looks as it should. Like an empty room, it's hard to imagine what it would look like with furniture. I could of course be talking complete crap but hopefully you know what I mean

Crust punk? That's a new one on me  I remember getting into bars when I was 17, it was great! Feeling slightly old now
