Hmm. You actually have a point! And I will add a head later, that can make some difference too. It was nice you think she looked natural also, I didn't look at her that way.

And yes, that kind of ladies I want her to look like :) The kind you mentioned.

Hehe, they're not that many crusters in the world :ROFLMAO:

Mhm, I feel old sometimes too, especially when my son keeps telling me all the things he won't let me do because I'm his mom and too old for this and that

Haha! I don't feel young sometimes  (normally after too much wine lol)

A head would definitely bring her to life a bit more. Perhaps her form doesn't need to be anything like the pin ups tho, most people who have tattoos look like you or I? Bigger, smaller, tall, short, young and old, all wear tattoos. I especially find older generations with tattoos fascinating. My grandad was in the navy and he has tattoos from all over the world, he's like a walking flash book  great project, I look forward to seeing the outcome!

Yes, you're absolutely right, and perhaps it's better the bodies that the tattoos will sit on look "normal" and that the tattoos on the bodies have that look I want.
I agree love those oldies having tattoos! And their tattoos have a kind of classic style, not so perfect, the lines have become a little blurred...love it! Nice with your grandad :) My man's grandad were tattoed (he's dead now), he had the classics, a mermaid, love hope and hm what do you call the third?

@MalligaMallan haha, I think we've hijacked this thread already ;) I like all sorts of music to be honest  I love the 80s and older hair metal, I spent much of my youth listening to bands like green day, rancid, akaline trio, metallica, slipknot, korn etc etc I loved zebrahead, saw them so many times I lost count, coheed and cambria bought me and the hubby together, it was the first cd he ever bought me, we even travelled to Sweden to see them (dubaser?). I really love house and garage music too  plus I find classical music helps me concentrate. At the moment I absolutely love Fakear, if you have spotify give it a listen; I love la lune rousse! I discovered them last year but I stumbled across them again today, I love retracing old music I'd forgotten about! Sorry, long answer. I do love music <3
How's about you?

I like the piece you did in memorial of your Nan! Really clean lines - a good one to practice with!

Here's one that I knocked out this afternoon using a 2B & 4B This one is special because not only is it something I'm very passionate about - it's going ON me! Not sure who's going to do it ....and before anyone asks I can't self administer because I want it down my left arm (and I'm left handed - how's that for an impossible task!)

Thanks Russ, I thought about a scrolly bit that wraps around the headstock with "bass until death" on it, but it might be a bit naff!

"Unique" or "different" might work better. "Personal" betyder mer att det har en mening för en person och inte för en annan-- vilket förstås fungerar i vissa sammanhang också.

Haha tack för en tydlig svensk förklaring! Det kändes fel men ibland är det som att engelskan fastnar i halsen :)

How's about you?

Nice!! Some new names there, will def check them out!! Love metallica! And Korn! I love music too and love to get new tips! Always looking for new bands. Don't play or sing myself though. Do you?

I listen a lot to stoner, like Electric Wizard and Kyuss. Or Uncle acid and the deadbeats. And I like rap, ie Eminem, 2pac - the record he made in Makaveli name I actually think is the best at the moment :)),Dälek, public enemy, nwa... I also like black metal (speaking about good music to work to) like mayhem, burzum, dissection but they have some issues politiquewise...hm. Makes it a bit hard to listen to because of that. And psychedelic rock! Love Black Angels, give them a listen!
And I love Lana del Reys latest, and Tool, and A perfect circle and The Ocean, and Soundgarden (Superunknown) and Soen http://open.spotify.com/user/malinmörth/playlist/7qDjpGYm68U7bFlVDUYhD9 , and Death Grips,and....so many bands :)
And Jex Thoth! And I love Animal Nitrate by Suede....
I don't know if this could be something for you?

I don't think I've heard of most of the bands you've mentioned  I've saved those playlists and will give them a listen tomorrow at work (y)

I finally finished her...I think. I'm really unhappy with her lips

I've started to listen your bands! :) Began with Fakear, I like it, it's calm. I'll listen more before I say anything more.

I'd just like to give you one more playlist, Black Angels whom I listen a lot to at the moment http://open.spotify.com/album/0Re5cu3MdZGDZ8C1ImFczE

Start with that one, I think you may like it. Some of the tunes at least.

I think your drawing is wonderful!! The lips work I think, if you like you can always try to draw them closed. But I myself prefer when the mouth is a little open.
I still think you could go on a bit with the dark in the picture. Like in others you have done. It's like you're afraid to go too far and destroy it by working too much on the dark. But that's my opinion! Others may think differently.
Love it with the red!

Thank you!! I've saved black Angels for the morning also, I'll give you my review tomorrow ;)

I see what you meant with the darkness in the hair areas, but when I look at it in real life it's a lot darker :/ i used a 6b, but my phone camera seems to lightened the areas quite a lot! Although, I do agree these areas I could have perhaps shaded a little deeper.

Thank you for the classes, that's really thoughtful :) my hubby works in Putney! It's a little out the way for me, but I will research and see if it's a possibility with times and the potential classes! Thanks

I really like Black Angels, but Soen really stuck out! I like their sound, they remind mpe a little of breed 77 (la ultima hora is my favourite song on this album)
Listen to Cultura
Breed 77 on Spotify: http://open.spotify.com/album/5u7JHxQe8svUt3i6udmWJu
I will listen to the other you recommended on my way home! Thanks (y) I'll be keeping them on my playlist!

Started listening to your breed77 playlist this moment!

I have some other tips, will come back to that later.

Breed77 is good! I see what you mean Soen and they sound like each other.
And Fakear I like also! Funny name, took me a while before I saw it wasn't [fake ear] :)

If you come to think of more tips, just drop them to me :)

Beautiful the one with a candle! Just perfect. To be veeeery picky - I'm thinking if it were to be a tattoo - the color shading on the petal closest in pic could follow the petal a bit better.

(y) for the others as well! Actually I like the blacknwhite very much or perhaps most, because it - my god what was the word now again? Not personal, something else. Hope you understand :) The perspective of the box - I guess you see for yourself it's not correct? (I'm a_perfectionist_in these matters, not always optimal to be...) Maybe you would keep the charm by keeping perspective of box, and only correct the handle? Or just keep it all the way it is :) I_would_however like to see the dots drawn with a little tinier pen. Just my own wish. Would be really neat.

Thanks Malin! I must admit I rushed the birds head with the dots. I have an interview at a studio Friday and I'm just trying to churn out some work in advance. I'll go back to it and add more tinier dots to fill it out a bit more. I agree with the box, the perspective is completely off but as the design is quite strange I think it compliments it a little?? Lol, I'm just making excuses now!

Every time I go morrisons they don't have any skin in :( I haven't even picked up my new machines yet as I felt I need to be able to draw better before I even considered it! I may get on them this weekend tho!

Thanks for your comments as always! Really helpful :)

I asked because you seem very ready for it when looking at your drawings :) It would be exciting to see your tattooing practice :)

I see you all talk about morrisons, you don't have a market hall instead of a store chain nearby you can go to? They're rare here in Sweden, but in the center of Stockholm there is one, and they're really helpful and good to talk to. I can order pigskin, and they themselves came up with the idea to get some pigskin without traces and cut off the fat for me. And it's cheap! £1.25 for 37 ounce :)barefoot:??? Not very familiar with your system:LOL:. Anyway, is 1 kg)

 Thank you! I will try and get on my machines this weekend. I am very nervous about going into a studio with my drawings, but hopefully they'll give me some constructive feedback.

We have butchers here, but my local one has been shut down :( there are others, but it's just finding the time to get to one. Morrisons is one of the only supermarkets here that seem to sell the skin in packets. They used to do it in my local but have stopped stocking it recently for some reason!

Last nights finished piece. Tried knocking out a few more but just messed them up.

Nice piece! I think everything you show now is good and well worked on!

If I_would_say something about this one, it would that the shaft of the dagger and the upper rose kind of melts together when so similar in color :)

I went to a life drawing course last night! It's open for anyone so I don't have to apply or anything, and pay each time ~1£10 for 2h). So much fun! Haven't done it in a long time :)

Andy's got a point. Only thing is they are expensive. And if you_were_to but piggy, you could try Asian markets of some sort of they're not hard to find (shouldn't be). They use this kind of pigskin in cooking a lot.

@DanniellaJ Sorry for not commenting at all that you're going to a studio tomorrow!!! I was so busy talking about the other stuff  It sounds extremely exciting and I'm curious to hear what they said and what happened!!! My god, so fun! I understand you're nervous, but you're showing them good drawings. Break a leg! (y)

Hm, you say constructive feedback? It is an apprenticeship you're looking for, no?

Lol! No it's ok! I've been a little busy and haven't had time to respond to you!

Basically, it's a "3 month challenge" that will allow me to gain experience of an apprentice which may lead on to an apprenticeship. That's all I really know so far. Athough when I write it out it sounds like jumping through hoops a little  I've been following the studio a long time and had some work done in their sister shop. The opportunity first came up in January but I couldn't make it due to short notice. They have a space available again so invited me in! I've no idea if it'll be for me anyway but can't pass up the opportunity! Scary though

But that sounds like a very good situation for you! They already know who you are and even invited you in. That's usually the most tricky part of it all. I'm holding all thumbs for you :)

I've been offered a 3 month apprenticeship (4 days a week) potential to increase to 6, depends on how the first 3 months go. Now I decide what I do!

I'm a little envious! Nice dilemma it sounds :) What are your choices? The job you have now or the apprenticeship? What do you do now (if it's okay I ask!) and do you like that very much? Hm and then there's the pay bit.....will you get paid at all as an apprentice?
