Hi all. Had a strange request from a friend. He wants me to tattoo fake hair stubble on his bald spot. Sounds reasonably simple but I can imagine if it doesn't look 100% real it would be a disaster. Anyone done this before?

I might upset people here but this is my opinion only. Torb you are a tattoo artist not a cosmetic make up artist. We do pretty things. That shit has to be boring. I cant see it being as easy as it looks. I like your art. Stick to what you love

Thanks. Yes I am reluctant to do it. If it wasn't for a good friend I'd say no way. I'll look into it and see if I can find more info on it. Still probably will say no ?

Being a baldie, I’ve looked into this before. I think they use different equipment and different pigments though? The results are a bit hit and miss even when the pros do it so I think it’s risky. If it looks bad then it’s gonna be tough to live with that. But if you do it, let us know how it goes :)

i think it would only look ok if was the whole head, if it's just a spot like you said it could look weird.

I do know I read about it recently, I think it was in here. Add fat as I got it it's different to other sports of tattooing, just like Andy implies. If you are to do it, make sure to get info about it first. This can go terribly wrong ??

I would advise against it....the other artist and I are actually going to start doing this as well. It does require different equipment and ink. The needles are much smaller. trying to do this with conventional tattoo equipment will turn into a nightmare.
