Today one of my mentors showed me something that’s already been helping with my line work.
He has a quill pen attached to an old machine, and I’ve been working with it all day.
I’ve put pens and pencils in some of the machines I have to get used to the weight. But because it’s a quill you have to dip frequently like you do tattooing, and you have to hold it at the right angle to get the ink to flow, and it’s been the best. I definitely felt like others could benefit from this too. Give it a try it’s the right kind of challenging.

Local shop artist told me about using the fountain pen for solid line work, it is very good for practice even on skin as of course it wont make a permanent tattoo

I've heard of this before. What angle do you have to be at for the ink to flow? I've heard heard 60-70 degree angle for lining and 45 degrees for shading. Can anyone confirm this?
