Started this one yesterday, but I feel it's missing something or something is off but can't put my finger on it, and that's why I'm turning to you.

Should use some shadows in the flower petals maybe. From behind the head of the bird

Before I read your post I thought it was a dinosaurs skull. The petals look like part of the skull to me.

I probably skip the flower altogether and try just a circle or something behind.
